Tips on Trash

Residents will be provided the use of a "free" 96 gallon rolling polycart. All your household waste MUST be contained inside the polycart provided. Any bags, additional cans or bulk items left outside of the polycart will no longer be removed on your regular weekly pickup unless prior arrangements are made for bulk pickup.
Polycarts must be at the curbside by 7:00 a.m. on collection day and must be between street and curb, away from parked vehicles. Residents with alley stops must have polycart ouside of enclosures, accessible by the automated truck.
If you need additional polycarts, contact Waste Management. A $4.00 per month will be charged for additional polycarts, but Waste Management requires that a one year advance payment of $48 be paid.
Household Hazardous Waste

The City of Evans does not offer Household Hazardous Waste Collection, however you may contact Weld County. For more information about Household Hazardous Waste Collection, please call 304-6415, Ext. 2233.
We Encourage You to Recycle!

Recycling reduces your trash volume and it's good for our environment.
Curbside recycling is available to residents of the City. Waste Management will provide a recycle bin to fill with newspaper, aluminum, steel cans, glass and plastic containers.
Place the recyle bin next to your polycart and a recycle truck will remove your recyclables.
Recyle service is provided every-other week on your normal trash day.
Waste Management requires a $20 deposit for the recycle bin.

Residents of the City of Evans are contracted for trash pick up by Waste Management. City of Evans pickup day is Tuesdays.
The following holidays are observed:
- New Year's Day
- Memorial Day
- July 4th
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
You may experience a one-day delay in your service during these holiday weeks.
Electronics Recycling

More than 250 million computers in the United States may become obsolete in the next five years, and those machines, along with TVs, computer monitors, VCRs, DVD players, printers, copiers and stereo equipment are overwhelming the nation's landfills. As a result, substances such as lead, mercury, chromium and cadmium are seeping into the environment.
Schaefer Enterprises, Inc. has provided electronics recycling to local residents and businesses since August 2007. SEI is a nonprofit organization that provides services to adults with developmental disabilities in Weld County. The agency runs a sheltered workshop that allows people who would not otherwise be able to work in the community a chance to improve their skills and earn a paycheck. As many as 20 people with developmental disabilities earn wages for taking these electronic products apart and separating them into plastics, metal, circuits, wiring and glass.
Residents and businesses can bring their end-of-life electronics to 500 26th Street in Greeley Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM. Schaefer Enterprises is closed weekends and major holidays. After-hour drop-offs are discouraged. There is a small fee for accepting TVs and computer monitors due to the additional processing needed to contain the lead in the cathode ray tubes. Scheduled pick-ups of electronic waste can be arranged for residents and businesses for a fee.

Spring Cleanup

This year's Spring Cleanup will take place at the Evans Wastewater Treatment Plant (3322 1st Avenue) on April 17-18 and April 24-25. The hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day.
