Approved Landscape Planting List

The City of Evans has adopted an approved landscape planting list for tree and shrubs within City limits. These species have been approved as types and varieties that groom well in the Evans area. Additionally, only these species will be allowed to be planted in City right-of-way areas (i.e. - Parkways) if indicated as an appropriate Street Tree. If improper trees and/or shrubs are planted in the parkways, the resident may be requested to remove the plant. For more tree and landscaping related details, please refer to the Evans Municipal Code Chapters 8.14, 16.42 and/or 19.47.

No Mow--Let It Grow

The City of Evans has incorporated a Natural Resource Management no mow philosophy for certain areas within the City that are planned native grass landscapes, designated open space, detention pond facilities, and undeveloped future parks. These "no mow" areas are to be managed for the growth of native grass species, not for the propagation of weeds. Weeds will continue to be maintained and eradicated wherever feasible by mechanical, chemical and natural means.
